Sporrans for Every Kilt Outfit
Sporrans
The sporran is not optional on a traditional kilt, because a kilt has no pockets and the sporran is where your phone, wallet and keys go. The range runs from plain day sporrans for casual wear through embossed and studded semi dress styles up to full dress and horse hair sporrans for formal evenings. All leather is 100% genuine. If you are buying your first, a plain leather day sporran covers the widest range of occasions and is the one most people should start with. Chains are supplied adjustable and are shortened by removing links from one side rather than both, which keeps the clasp centred. Sizing is by register rather than by measurement, so the decision is which occasion you are dressing for. If you own one sporran, own a plain leather day sporran, because it carries further downward into casual wear than a dress sporran carries upward into formality.
