Harrington Jackets
Harrington jackets with tartan linings and check detail. A short blouson cut with a stand collar, elasticated cuffs and hem, and a diamond quilted or tartan lined body. The design dates to the fifties and has been worn continuously since, which makes it one of very few jackets that never looks of a particular year. Cut to your own chest, shoulder and sleeve. Choose your lining sett from over 5000 tartans. The Harrington was made in Manchester in the fifties and takes its name from a television character who wore one, not a designer. The proportion is why it has stayed current for seventy years. It finishes exactly at the waist, the collar stands rather than lies, and the cut is close without being tight. The tartan lining shows at the collar when turned up and at the cuff when a sleeve is pushed back.
