Day / Casual Sporrans
The day sporran is the one to buy first and the one you will use most. Plain or lightly tooled genuine leather, a simple flap and stud closure, no cantle and no fur. It carries from a pub lunch to a daytime wedding without looking wrong in either place, which is more than can be said for any other register. If you own one sporran, this should be it. Available in brown and black, with chain and belt strap. Closures differ and it is worth knowing which you are buying. A stud closure is fastest to open one handed. A clasp under the cantle is more secure and slightly slower. A simple flap with no fastening is the most traditional and the least practical if you are moving around. Capacity across the register is similar, holding a phone, a wallet and keys rather than anything larger.
