The preppy and schoolgirl look in real woven tartan rather than printed check. Pleated skirts at or above the knee, blazers and knitwear in navy, red, green and grey based setts. This is the one aesthetic where a strong red tartan is the correct choice rather than a bold one, since the palette is bright and collegiate by definition. Cut to your own waist and finished length.
