Highland Games Kilts
Kilts built for competition rather than for the sidelines. Heavy event athletes put loads through a kilt that ordinary Highland dress was never designed to take, so these are reinforced at the waist and through the pleating, cut with more room across the hip for a full stride and a deep hinge, and finished with hardware that stays fastened under load. Available in clan setts and in plain athletic colours for club and team use. Cut to your own measurements, because a kilt that shifts mid throw is worse than useless. Reinforcement sits at the waistband and the strap anchors, because that is where a caber turn or a weight over bar concentrates load. The hip is cut wider so a full hinge is not fought, and the pleating opens under stride rather than binding. Most competitors run two kilts, one for the field and one for the opening ceremony, since a competition kilt takes real punishment across a season.
