Skater skirts sit high on the natural waist and flare into a full circle hem, so they move when you do. The swing comes from the amount of cloth in the cut rather than from netting underneath, which means they drape rather than sticking out. Choose your sett at checkout from over 5000 tartans and send your waist measurement and finished length in the order notes, because a skater skirt lives or dies on where the waist sits. Cut and finished by hand. Size to the waist and nothing else, because the flare handles the hip entirely and a waistband sitting an inch too low loses the whole effect. Some styles include an inner short or lining and some do not, which is stated on each product page. Given the length and the movement, most wearers prefer one, and cycling shorts underneath solve it invisibly where a style is unlined.
