Men's Tartan Plaid Waistcoats
Men's tartan waistcoats in five button and three button cuts, for Highland dress and for ordinary suits. A waistcoat is the easiest way to put a family sett into an outfit without committing to a full tartan jacket, and it works under a plain blazer or on its own over a shirt. Remember that with a kilt a waistcoat replaces the belt rather than sitting over it. Cut to your own chest, waist and back length across over 5000 setts. Button count follows the occasion rather than preference. A three button waistcoat is the formal Highland cut, worn with a Prince Charlie in the evening and cut higher and shorter to suit it. A five button is the standard daytime waistcoat, worn with an Argyll or an ordinary suit. Leave the bottom button undone on any waistcoat with a straight hem, which is nearly all of them.
