The Tara Murphy Kilt is a striking and unique piece of Scottish attire inspired by the Tara Murphy Clan, which dates back to the 16th century. This tartan pattern stands out due to a color change made by MacLean. Originally thought to appear as Murphy in the Paris 1880 show "Clans Originaux," the tartan was renamed "Tara" in 1967. The history of this clan is steeped in rich traditions and values, making it a notable choice within Scottish tartan communities.
The main background of this kilt is a prominent, bright green color. Red lines that cross both vertically and horizontally rise atop the green, accompanied by thinner red, black, yellow, and white lines.
