Kilt Shirts
Kilt shirts for Highland dress. Jacobite ghillie shirts, which have no collar and no buttons and close at the neck with a leather lace, for casual wear and worn out over the waistband. Formal dress shirts with wing or turndown collars for anything with a jacket. The two are not interchangeable, and wearing a Jacobite shirt under a formal jacket is the combination that never works. Jacobite ghillie shirts are cut deliberately loose with a full sleeve gathered at the cuff, no collar, no buttons, and a leather lace through eyelets at the throat. They are worn out over the waistband rather than tucked. Formal shirts are the opposite, cut closer through the body for a high kilt waistband, with a wing collar for a bow tie or a turndown collar for a standard tie.
