The Cameron of Erracht tartan was created in 1793 by John Cameron of Erracht for his regiment, blending traditional Cameron and Macdonald tartans. The Cameron of Erracht Clan, a branch of Clan Cameron, descends from the Highland chief Donald 'Taillear Dubh na Tuaighe' Cameron. The Cameron family, originally from the Scottish Highlands, was known for their bravery and strength and had a proud military service record.
The tartan features vibrant shades of red, green, blue, yellow, and black, representing the clan's valor and heritage.
