What your amount buys
The value ladder, from first sporran to full wedding party
Because every piece is custom-made in our own workshops, prices run well below off-the-shelf Highland wear. Here's what each band realistically covers.
Accessories & small tartan gifts
Kilt socks and flashes, kilt pins, tartan scarves, or a head start on a gift under $100. Also the classic "contribute toward the kilt" amount.
A complete custom kilt
The 5-Yard Kilt starts at $58 and the Traditional 9-Yard Kilt at $79, each hand-pleated to the recipient's measurements in their choice of 5,000+ tartans.
Kilt + the pieces that finish it
A 13-Yard Great Kilt ($99), or a 9-yard kilt plus a sporran, belt, and hose. Also covers most plaid skirts with room to spare.
A complete Highland outfit
Five-piece complete outfits, kilt, jacket, waistcoat, sporran, accessories, at 15% off vs. buying separately. The wedding-guest and Burns Night sweet spot.
Premium formal outfits, or two
The Prince Charlie outfit for black tie, the Argyll outfit for daytime formal, with budget left for ghillie brogues and a fly plaid.
The whole wedding party
Groom, groomsmen, and fathers in one coordinated tartan, groomsmen outfits, flower girl dresses, and handfasting cords. For collective buying, consider a Group Gift Pool.
Why choose a precise amount
Match the gift to the plan, not the preset
- Cover a specific product exactly. $79 for the Traditional 9-Yard Kilt, $99 for the Great Kilt, no awkward leftover, no shortfall.
- Split a bigger gift cleanly. Three siblings, $167 each, a preset can't do that. A custom card can. (Or automate it with a Group Gift Pool.)
- Hit the free-shipping line. Orders over $300 ship free worldwide, a $300+ card means their entire order can arrive with nothing extra to pay.
- Honor a meaningful number. $180 for a 18th birthday in style, $250 for a 25th anniversary, the amount becomes part of the message.
Free shipping threshold
Cards of $300 or more let the recipient's order qualify for free worldwide shipping on its own.

Custom amount FAQ
How much should I put on a kilt gift card?
As a rule of thumb: $58–$100 covers a custom casual kilt, $100–$250 a traditional kilt plus accessories, $250–$500 a complete 5-piece outfit, and $500+ premium formal outfits or multiple wedding-party pieces. The value ladder above maps each band to real products.
Can I really pick any amount?
Yes, any whole-dollar value from $25 to $2,500. $73, $180, $1,417, if it's in range, it works.
What if their order costs more than the card?
They pay the difference at checkout with any standard payment method. If the order costs less, the remaining balance stays on the card for next time, it never expires.
Is delivery any different from the standard digital gift card?
No, identical. Emailed within minutes with your personal message. Only the value is custom. If you need it to arrive on a specific date, use Schedule a Future Send.
Can several people fund one large card together?
That's exactly what the Group Gift Pool is for, one link, multiple contributors, one combined gift card delivered to the recipient.
Do businesses get volume pricing on gift cards?
Yes, for 10+ cards, invoicing, or branded corporate tartan programs, see Corporate Gift Programs.
