Everyday Casual Tartan

Most people who buy tartan buy it for an occasion, wear it twice, and leave it in a wardrobe. The way around that is to choose the sett for how often you want to wear it rather than for how it looks in a photograph. Muted tartans get worn. Bright ones get admired.
