Framed and unframed prints of clan setts, clan crest and motto designs, Scottish maps showing clan territories, and Highland landscape and heritage imagery. Sett prints work as abstract colour at a distance and reveal the pattern close up, which is why they hang well in a hallway or a stairwell.
On designs where the sett is selectable, yes, set at checkout. Clan crest designs are tied to specific families and are listed individually. If your surname does not appear, send it to us, since many names are septs of larger clans and share their tartan and crest without carrying the clan name themselves.
In a muted sett, easily. Weathered and hunting colourways read as soft geometric colour blocks rather than as anything overtly traditional, and they sit comfortably against plain walls and modern furniture. Bright modern colourways read far more traditional and want a room that can carry them.
Framing and mounting vary by product, so check the individual page before ordering, since some pieces ship framed and ready to hang while others are supplied as prints for your own framing. Sizes are listed on each item. Keep prints out of direct sunlight, which fades any pigment over a few years.
Larger than you think. Sett prints read as abstract colour blocks at distance and only resolve into pattern close up, so a small print in a corridor gets lost. Measure the wall and take the larger option. Check the dimensions listed on each product page before ordering.
Any pigment fades in direct sunlight over a few years. Hang prints on a wall that does not take direct sun, or use glass with a UV filter if the position is fixed. This applies to every printed artwork rather than to tartan specifically, and it is entirely avoidable with placement. For the same setts on soft furnishings, see tartan cushions.
