Kid's Kilt Outfit Size Guide

A charming outfit for weddings and celebrations. Measure the kilt, then the jacket and shirt, with an adult assisting.

Use a cloth tapeA tailor's soft tape, never a metal one.

The Kilt

  1. 1

    Waist

    Around the natural waist, just above the navel, snug but comfortable.

  2. 2

    Hip

    Around the fullest part of the hips, 7–9″ below the waist.

  3. 3

    Kilt Length

    From the waist down to just above the knee.

Note. A surcharge applies over 24″ waist or 18″ length.

The Jacket

  1. Chest

    Around the fullest part of the chest, parallel to the floor.

  2. Waist

    Around the natural waistline, as for the kilt.

  3. Shoulder Width

    From the tip of one shoulder to the other across the back.

  4. Sleeve Length

    From the shoulder seam down to the wrist, arm slightly bent.

  5. Jacket Length

    From the shoulder down to the desired length.

The Shirt

  1. Neck Size

    Around the base of the neck, snug but not tight.

  2. Chest

    Around the fullest part of the chest, level.

  3. Sleeve Length

    From the shoulder down to the wrist, arm slightly bent.

Also handy: waist for the kilt belt, and foot length & width for shoes.
