Historical Context
Tracing back to the roots of the Gaelic "Mac an-t-saoir," meaning "son of the carpenter," the MacIntyre clan holds a revered place in Scottish history. Originating from Clan Donald, the MacIntyres have woven their legacy through the rugged landscapes of Glen Noe, Lochetive, and Badenoch. Over six centuries, this clan has maintained its distinct identity, closely tied to the forests and wilds where they once roamed. The MacIntyre Hunting Ancient Tartan is more than just a pattern; it encapsulates a story of survival, craftsmanship, and unity. Documented in historic texts like the Vestiarium Scoticum (1842) and recognized by the Lord Lyon's Register of Arms (1955), this tartan serves as a vibrant testament to the clan's enduring spirit.
Color Scheme and Pattern
The MacIntyre Hunting Ancient Tartan features a symphony of colors that are as rich in meaning as they are in appearance. Dominated by a sky-blue base, this tartan is interspersed with thick green stripes that represent the lush forests of the Scottish Highlands. Thin white and red stripes traverse the tartan, echoing the historical threads of the MacIntyre lineage. Each color and line is meticulously woven to preserve the authenticity of the tartan and reflect the natural beauty of the landscapes associated with the clan’s history. Made from 100% acrylic wool, it ensures durability and comfort, making it perfect for both wear and display.
