Somerled, a formidable figure, expelled Norsemen from the Western Isles, only to meet his end in 1164 while resisting King Malcolm IV. His legacy continued with his descendants, notably John, the brother of Angus Og, who aligned with Robert the Bruce and became the "Lord of Isles" in 1354. The clan's significant influence peaked when the 2nd Lord claimed the Earldom of Ross, leading to a notable battle at Harlow in 1411. The title of Lord of the Isles became intertwined with Scottish nobility, officially recognized in 1430. Despite conflicts with the crown, the tartan remains a symbol of resilience and heritage.

Our some tartans are woven to order, the tartan weaving process taking approximately 4-5 weeks.

All returns must be sent back to us at our contact address at your own cost and risk.

Only defected items will be entertained for exchange.
