Historical Context
The Logan Ancient Tartan is steeped in rich Scottish heritage, tracing its origins to the Logan clan, who were known for their loyalty to Robert the Bruce during the tumultuous 14th century. This clan’s motto, "Hoc marjoram Virtus," translates to "This is the valor of my ancestral ancestors," reflecting their proud history. One notable event involves Sir Robert and Sir Walter Logan, who joined Sir James Douglas's expedition to deliver Bruce's heart to the Holy Land in 1330. Despite their sacrifice, the Logan clan continues to honor this legacy through their crest, which features a pierced heart, symbolizing their unwavering loyalty and valor. The tartan itself is a vibrant representation of this illustrious lineage.
