Historical Significance
Embark on a journey through the lush landscapes of Scottish history with the Johnstone Tartan. Steeped in the valor of the Border regions, the Clan Johnstone has been a formidable presence, embodying strength and resilience. This tartan, a proud emblem of the clan, serves not only as a symbol of identity but also as a piece of cultural heritage that has been passed down through generations. The origins of the Johnstone Tartan are as intriguing as the tales that accompany Clan Johnstone itself. Tartans have long been the fabric of Scottish clans, woven into their very identity. For Clan Johnstone, the tartan is no different, representing a tapestry of historical narratives and clan legends. Modern variations of the tartan—ancient, modern, and dress—reflect the evolution of Scottish attire, adapting over centuries due to changes in fashion, weaving techniques, and regional influences. Despite the limited records pinpointing the creation of modern Johnstone Tartan, its significance remains undiminished, making it a timeless choice for those who cherish Scottish traditions.
Color Scheme & Pattern
The Johnstone Tartan is beautifully designed with a deep green backdrop, punctuated by bold blue and delicate yellow and black stripes. This classic color combination not only captures the essence of Scottish landscapes but also offers a versatile look that is perfect for various occasions. Whether it’s the traditional attire for a formal event or a casual gathering, the Johnstone Tartan stands out with its distinctive sett pattern and vibrant hues.
