Historical Significance
The Brodie clan is one of the oldest in Scotland, with its origins tracing back to the Pictish period. The Brodies traditionally occupied lands in the Moray region, and their ancestral home, Brodie Castle, stands as a symbol of their influence and legacy. Throughout history, the Brodies were known for their resilience and strong leadership. The clan motto, Unite, reflects their emphasis on unity and togetherness within the family and clan. The Brodie crest features a right hand holding a bunch of arrows, symbolizing both the strength in unity and the willingness to defend their clan's honor.
Color Scheme & Pattern
The Brodie Hunting Ancient Tartan features a rich palette of green, blue, black, red, and yellow. The green represents the forests and fertile lands of Moray, where the Brodie clan thrived. Blue symbolizes the loyalty and wisdom of the clan’s leadership. Black represents the strength and resilience of the Brodies in the face of adversity. The red lines signify the courage and bravery of the clan, while yellow details add a touch of honor and celebration of their historic legacy. The pattern is balanced with vivid colors and contrasts, making it an appealing and distinguished tartan for those connected to Clan Brodie. This tartan is made from 100% acrylic wool, ensuring durability and comfort.
