Historical Context
The Montgomery tartan has a rich history dating back to the early days of the Scottish clans. The name Montgomery is believed to have originated from a Norman family associated with the Castle of St. Foy de Montgomery in France. The Montgomerie Earls of Eglinton and Winton, prominent figures in Scottish history, lived near Cargill in Perthshire. The first recorded Montgomery in Scotland, Robert, acquired lands in Eaglesham, Renfrewshire. Unlike traditional Highland clans, the Montgomerys were a powerful Lowland family with connections to various Highland clans. This distinctive tartan was first documented in William Wilson & Son's Tartan Book No.4, possibly adapted by the Montgomeries of Ayrshire around the time of the 1707 Union. Custom Weave tartans are woven to order, the tartan weaving process taking approximately 4-5 weeks.

Who do we use to deliver your order?
Our back office systems are fully integrated with DHL and FEDEX which means that the second your parcel is dispatched you will be sent an email containing your tracking details. this allows both you and us to track your parcel's every move from our door to yours!
