Historical Significance
The Hunter of Peebleshire Tartan is steeped in rich Scottish heritage. The name 'Hunter' is derived from the Old English word for 'hunting,' and historically, the tartan is linked to the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands, with documented references dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. The Hunter clan is notably associated with Hunterston in Ayrshire, one of the earliest locations linked to the name. Throughout history, the tartan has been an emblem of Scottish identity, representing pride and tradition. Notable figures include the various clan leaders and soldiers who wore their tartan with honor in battles and gatherings, thereby solidifying its significance in Scottish culture.
Color Scheme & Pattern
The Hunter of Peebleshire Tartan features a harmonious blend of deep green, navy blue-black, red, and white shades. These colors symbolize a connection to the natural world, embodying the lush landscapes of Scotland, while the red signifies courage and the white represents purity. The pattern itself is a classic tartan design, characterized by a balanced arrangement of stripes and checks that adds a touch of elegance to any attire. Crafted from 100% acrylic wool, this tartan offers both durability and comfort, making it suitable for various occasions.
