Historical Significance
The Freedom Tartan is a relatively new tartan, created in 2012 to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath, a historic document that declared Scotland's independence from England in 1320. Designed by Scottish tartan designer Brian Wilton, this tartan symbolizes Scotland's rich history and culture. It has become a popular choice at Scottish festivals and events, especially among Scottish ex-pats and members of the Scottish diaspora around the world. The tartan not only celebrates Scotland's past but also serves as a beacon of hope for its future.
Color Scheme & Pattern
The Freedom Tartan is a vibrant and eye-catching pattern that celebrates the essence of freedom and spirit. This tartan features a striking combination of bright green, royal blue, black, and white. The bold green symbolizes life, renewal, and the natural beauty of the land. The royal blue represents loyalty, confidence, and the vast skies above. Black adds depth and strength to the design, while the white lines provide a crisp, clean contrast, symbolizing peace and harmony. Together, these colors create a dynamic and spirited tartan that stands out in any setting. Made from 100% acrylic wool, this tartan ensures durability and comfort, making it perfect for both casual wear and special occasions.
