Sempill Tartan

This is the accepted tartan for Sempill although there is another version for the name spelled 'Semple'. Tartan Society notes: The historic connection between the Forbes and the Sempills is the reason for the similarity of the tartans.
Sir Thomas Innes of Learney GCVO Lord Lyon 1945 - 1969 suggested that red should be used in the tartan because that color was in the Sempill chevron. Sempill Tartan features are dark blue, and green, as well as electric blue, and red lines.
