Scrimgeour Tartan

The name is from Middle English Skrymsher/Scrimgeour, Skirmisour, which in turn were derived from the Old French forms of Eskermisor, a fencer. The name that first comes to mind is Alexander named Schyrmeschur. He is named his son Colyn and one of the sons of Carun (of Cupar) who acquired in 1293 a tack or lease on the property of Torr from Thomas de Kylmaron. The Scrimgeour Tartan is orange, mustard, royal blue, and black.
