Historical Context
The Platt Ancient Tartan is a timeless design that reflects the historical essence of Scottish tartans, carrying on the traditions of kinship and regional identity. Although not specifically tied to a particular clan, it draws inspiration from Scotland’s rich tapestry of cultural and familial connections. In the past, ancient tartans were dyed using natural, less saturated colors, giving them a softer, more muted appearance that reflected the landscapes of the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands. This ancient version of the Platt tartan honors these historical roots by using softer shades that evoke a sense of antiquity and tradition, bringing a touch of Scotland’s history into the modern world.
Color Scheme and Pattern
The Platt Ancient Tartan is composed of earthy greens and blues, which are symbols of Scotland’s natural beauty. The green reflects the lush Scottish hillsides and the connection to the land, while the blue represents loyalty and Scotland’s deep ties to the sea and sky. Red and yellow stripes subtly weave through the design, adding warmth and representing courage and energy. The pattern’s muted tones give it a classic, historical feel, making it an excellent choice for those looking to celebrate tradition while maintaining a timeless sense of style. The tartan is made from 100% acrylic wool for durability and comfort.
