During the plantation era, the McCormicks migrated to Ulster alongside other Scottish septs, finding a new home in counties like Fermanagh. The challenges continued with Oliver Cromwell's conquest in 1649, which brought suffering to the Irish Catholic population. Throughout history, the McCormicks showed resilience, participating in events like the Irish Rebellion of 1641 and the Rising of 1798, representing struggles for political reform and Irish independence.
